Philadelphia flyers have been named John Snowden Their AHL member Lehigh Valley Phantoms head coach.
also, Nick Schultz and Terrence Wallin Has been hired as an assistant coach.
Snowden, 43, has served as Phantom’s assistant for two seasons. He previously served as an assistant coach for AHL Toronto Match from 2021 to 2023, and as an assistant and head coach for ECHL’s Newfound Land Growlers from 2018 to 2021, and won the Kelly Cup in the 2018-19 year. He is also an assistant to Orlando ECHL Orlando of 2015-18.
Snowden has played 11 seasons professionally, mainly in the ECHL and Central Hockey League. He played three games in the AHL, one with Utah in 2004-05 and played with Norfolk in 2005-06.
Schultz lags behind the bench in Lehigh Valley after serving as a player development coach for the flyer for six seasons. Schultz played 1,069 games with Minnesota, Edmonton, Columbus and Philadelphia in the NHL, playing 14 games against the AHL’s Houston Eros during the 2002 Calder Cup playoffs.
Wallin came to Phantom from the ECHL branch in Maine, where he served as head coach and general manager. Wallin has played in five professional seasons (2015-20), including 27 AHL games against the Binghamton Devils and Hartford Wolf Pack.
