Washington – Israeli officials Signal chat leak CBS News learned that senior administration officials involved Israel because it included sensitive intelligence provided to the United States from human intelligence sources in Yemen.

While the signal chat message from Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic this week may not have damaged the effectiveness of the air strikes because of the publication’s restrictions on the release of information, it does compromise human sources, which damages Israelis’s intelligence to provide intelligence to Israelis and then provides the United States with a senior intelligence officer targeting the United States and a Corn Corbs of saraiss’ attitude toward Israelis, who provide intelligence to the United States. They spoke on anonymity to discuss sensitive national security matters.

The Wall Street Journal first reported on Thursday that Israelis complained to U.S. officials Mike WaltzPresident Trump’s national security adviser, who set up group chats, apparently mistakenly added Goldberg. The team spent several days earlier this month on news about possible strikes on Iran-backed Houthi militants who repeatedly fired missiles in Israel and launched shipping in the Red Sea.

CBS News contacted the National Security Council and the Israeli Embassy on Friday, but has not received a response.

On March 15, Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth texts Group chat, by the so-called President’s Committee – The highest level of the National Security Council, which includes cabinet members and other senior U.S. officials.

According to Goldberg’s report, a message from Heggs said:

“Trigger-based” F-18 1st strike window begins (the target terrorist is where he is known, so it should be on time – Strike Drone Launch (MQ-9S)

The senior U.S. intelligence official told CBS News that in this case, “trigger-based” refers to operations that depend on a particular condition or event – essentially, an air strike can be launched or no-progressively based on confirmation of the existence of the target.

That day, the Navy F/A-18F Super Hornets from the Red Sea-based aircraft carrier Harry S. U.S. Central Command said in a statement that they had begun an action that included “an precise strike against Yemeni Iran-backed Iran-backed Houthi targets to restore freedom of navigation.”

In another article before the decision to strike, Hegses said he supported doing so to restore freedom of navigation and rebuild deterrence, which he said was “crated” under the Biden administration.

The U.S. air strikes began after Iran-backed Houthis began, Waltz said in a speech at Chat Group Vice President JD Vance that the building had collapsed and that the U.S. military force had “multiple positive IDs” that demonstrated positive identification with Houthi members or members who were intended to kill.

“The first target – their tallest missile guy – we have his positive ID card, he walked into his girlfriend’s building and has now collapsed,” Walz added, according to the Atlantic.

Due to this week’s critical attack on people involved in signal chats, senior Trump administration officials have repeatedly said the information was not classified and no source or method was compromised.

“No location. No resources and methods. No plans for war,” Walz wrote on Wednesday X. “Foreign partners have been notified that the strike is imminent.”

But sources who spoke with CBS News said the Israeli Intelligence Agency was angry at the revelation of intelligence they provided to the United States. It is unclear what impact the United States and Israel have in this case.

CBS News reported on Thursday President Trump has been venting privately Sources familiar with the matter said he is closely monitoring the news for the irritation of signal chat leaks to see if the consequences have calmed down.

“There is no classified material in the signal chat,” Gabbard told lawmakers. The next day, Gabbard testified before the house team, acknowledging that the conversation was “sensitive”, but again rejected confidential information during the chat. “There is no shared source, method, location or plan of war,” she said.

Several U.S. intelligence officials and U.S. military members who spoke with CBS News this week argued that such information is always classified, but even if the information is not ruled, it still violates cybersecurity and operational security protocols.

CBS News released an internal document of the National Security Agency announcement on Tuesday Warning vulnerability When using the signaling application, even if it is encrypted. A month before Waltz created the Signal Chat Team, NSA announcements have been widely distributed to NSA employees.

The announcement also highlights NSA employees, third-party messaging applications, e.g. Signal Allow WhatsApp to do some “unclassified accountability/recall exercises” but does not convey more sensitive information.

NSA employees are also warned not to send “anything that harms any social media or Internet-based tools or applications” and not to “connect with people you don’t know.”
