Spotify is continuing to make more ways for listeners to make purchases directly in their iOS apps. Following changes to the streaming service, making it easier earlier this month, audiobooks are now available for purchases on Spotify.
“Spotify submitted a new app update that Apple has approved: Spotify users in the United States can now see pricing, purchase separate audiobooks, and purchase additional ‘poper up’ hours for audiobooks to over 15 hours per month for listening,” the company said in it.
The wave of change stems from the purchases made between Apple and Epic Games around the App Store outside the App Store. While things seem to be swinging without supporting apps and service providers, Apple may continue to challenge these rulings, even if it allows external payment methods.
