The Golden State Warriors are the only NBA team to take action during the offseason, but Steph Curry doesn’t emphasize that.
The 11-time All-Star game explains why he still believes the Warriors can talk to NBC Sports Curry Training Camp on Thursday when the Warriors start training camp in late September.
When asked about the Warriors’ quiet summer, Curry said, “It’s definitely different,” said. “But… my confidence is based on the identity we were able to create in the last third of the regular season (and the playoff journey) last year. We have a really good team and we do know we need something to help us reach the next level.
“I think we have a senior presence – Jimmy [Butler]Draymond [Green] – Like, we understand how to prepare for this uncertainty and be able to run in training camp, knowing we should have some exercise by then. ”
Curry noted that the Warriors were 23-7 on the floor after acquiring Butler on the 2025 trade deadline. He also pointed to the team’s playoff run, which was his derailment in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Division I hamstring pressure.
The four-time NBA champions are not panicked about what will happen next, whether it’s the arrival of another veteran or a potential deal.
“But you have control over what you can control,” Curry added. “And, no matter how many new experiences you have or what makes a difference from offseason to previous experiences, you don’t affect your personal preparations during the season and then impact our conversations about what we need to do.”
