The real culprit, however, seems to be the acting, as evidenced by the performances of Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, whose performances were so mediocre that they deeply disappointed even the show’s biggest fans.
From waffles to Botox?
For much of the season, Millie Bobby Brown has borne the brunt of criticism online. Many fans noticed that her character in Eleven seemed to have only one facial expression, which may have more to do with rumors of her using Botox than her actual acting skills. Unfortunately, being suddenly promoted to leading role meant that Will had too much screen time, and audiences noticed the actor delivering wooden lines at the worst possible times. Bad actor stands out among talented cast
It would be too bad if this happened to other characters, but it doesn’t: Sadie Sink, for example, gives a stellar performance as Max, so it’s easy to see why she’s about to become the next big star in the Marvel Universe. Gaten Matarazzo has done a great job in his character’s emotional arc this season, while Caleb McLaughlin’s performance had fans in tears when Max woke up from his coma. Heck, even young stranger things Newcomer Nell Fisher (now playing Holly) is surrounded by some of the show’s most senior actors.
