The body of a man missing after a shark attack near a tourist beach in northern Israel has been reportedly found.

According to British newspaper eraIsrael’s search and rescue team was located in the swimmer’s body in the incident on Tuesday, April 22 near the scene of the incident, near the Hadera coast, about 25 miles north of Tel Aviv.

Local media Ynetnews reported that human remains were found about 250 meters away from the place where the attack occurred.

People have previously reported that the man, believed to be in his 40s, was attacked in the sea on Monday, April 21.

He was still missing after the incident, but his belongings, such as bags and bicycles, were reportedly found.

“After a day and a half of intensive efforts, we found that it seemed to be part of the missing person,” said Deputy Director Doron Almashali.

“Naturally, these findings have to be thoroughly examined by the Israeli police and the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Research,” Almashali continued. “We will continue to work hard to confirm that we have indeed found the missing individual.”

The media reported that videos shared on social media captured witnesses yelling in the horrific incident.
