Horror as a genre is like comedy: if your premise is strong enough to escape murder. To my surprise, we can’t see more modern horror movies all appearing under a fashionable abandonment premise. You can build an unlimited number of narrative dramas and heads in the horror genre that sell audiences with a big idea and most likely something they have never actually seen before.
Example: I’m biting Good boyan original horror movie, will be in October this year. Why am I so excited about this movie? Because it is from the perspective of a dog.
This is not a bondage to home
The pet perspective is nothing new to the movie palette. Even the horror genre has experienced this book, like a must-read novel Thunder God Wayne Smith. That turned into a pleasant Bad Moon But lost the hook of the story: tell it through the eyes of the dog.
That’s the whole mission statement Good boydirector and co-author Ben Leonberg’s feature film debut. Leonberg uses his dog Indy to tell the story of a haunted house, where the faithful puppy tries to warn his owner of a vicious force that only Indians can perceive.
Leonberg took a lot of photos on purpose Good boy Suitable for dogs at eye level. It’s not Disney fluff or anything of this nature. Good boy It’s always been a horror movie, and it sounds exactly like the type I want to see.
Come up with more strange ideas
Good boy It doesn’t sound like the weirdest idea ever to horror movies, but then you pause and think: “Why no one does this?” Again, there are alternative examples in previous genres. For example, there are the 1989 Dark Gem Baxteradaptation of novel Hellhound Ken Greenhall. The movie gives Lead Dog an indoor monologue, thanks to the book, but Good boy It’s not an easy task for its protagonist.
Indy won’t have any voiceover to tell us what he thinks. Instead, Leonberg was able to get legitimate performances from his dog without having to use narrative or CG animation. Everything Indy does in the movie is actually captured on the camera. This alone can feel unique in today’s animation fare prices.
I like that Good boy It’s a movie sold with such a powerful concept. This makes it weird and weird, very good at getting my attention. Add all of this to it, and the audience loves dogs so much in the movie that killing one can make the audience opposed to your movie! Now, when he escapes the dangers of paranormal, they will follow the entire movie? This sounds like the secret to success.
Good boy It will receive a limited release this October and is scheduled to be played in the tremor at some point.
