I hate nostalgia because we all look through rose glasses and revisit what we like most of the time, which breaks the fantasy of “things get better” of the day because they really aren’t. We only have children, no huge responsibility or people because we long for the days we grow up, even our parents may lose their own ideas. So when I go to see A24 Y2KI think this will be your typical millennial cash snap-up, so they can get much-needed member berries before they get back to “adults.”
My evaluation is so wrong because not only Y2K It’s a meaningless nostalgic nuclear bomb, its self-awareness is absolutely ruthless, which allows it to tease the audience at the same time, make them joke, and then stand out from the jokes to the point where it’s no longer fun, but it’s only when it’s harder to come back and keep you breathless.
At least this is my experience.
It’s hard to talk about without ruining

Look Y2KI never thought it was “very cheap” and instead woke my family up many times because I worked hard on the ridiculousness of all this – the whole movie was like the misleading attempts we parents brought to us in the 90s by looking cool children who looked cool in front of kids.

Listen, you either love Y2K Or absolutely hate it, which is great. But if you are already at a certain age, the good times of the past can’t surpass your own cynicism and need a funny thing at your expense because the only way you know how to feel emotions through your own strategy is that, then you can enjoy it.
For everyone who hates this movie, I know it. I’m very clear that this is the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen in about a decade, but seeing what started out because a universal retro uniform teen screaming movie started to get off the track so quickly and continue to shamelessly fake your path because it absolutely removes your expectations and everyone will play it all out.
