The dump truck hits whiskey, go ahead, eliminates electricity

Authorities said a dump truck crashed into five vehicles and then tilted a Go Go Club in West Hollywood to eliminate electricity for businesses near the area.
Saadullah Sheikh, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said no injuries have been reported and it is not clear that the driver of the dump truck lost control of the commercial vehicle.
Sheikh said the incident happened shortly before 2 p.m., when the truck collided with five vehicles and then hit a building on the 8900 block of Sunset Avenue.
Jeff Monford, spokesman for Edison, Southern California, said the dump truck abandoned a main wire – eliminating electricity for some surrounding buildings. He said the power outage initially affected 1,420 customers, but that would reduce to 225 customers when the crew re-heats the power.
He said staff were trying to fully resolve the power outage on Friday afternoon, but did not know when the power would be restored.
Photos shared on social media show a white dump truck filled with dirt and leaning against a red brick building with a power transformer on the ground. Another photo shows a U.S. Postal Service vehicle with its right front side smashed.
The whiskey representative was unable to comment with Go Go immediately. According to its website, several bands are scheduled to perform at iconic entertainment venues on Friday night.
