Kyrie Irving

Anthony Davis won’t play, but it’s still very interesting to see Kyrie Irving compete with his former teammate Luka Doncic.

The Mavericks will head to Los Angeles on Tuesday night to play at the crypto.com arena, and Irving talks about expectations for getting into the game.

“A senior basketball game,” Irving said against media facing Don Cic and the Lakers. “There are a lot of great players on the floor. Apart from the obvious ones we have in Los Angeles, this is the former team of Luka, who obviously has written the narrative. I don’t know what else I can really add. I’m almost focused on Telling my guy is just focusing on the advanced game we have to win. I would love to start the action after the game with you, but before the game it’s just having fun and making sure we locked in.”

“They will come in and be ready to fight us. Luca will obviously be confident. He did a good job in the game, so he felt good and we just need to realize that.”

Meanwhile, Doncic seems to be really finding his groove with purple and gold. He performed best in the game earlier this week, with his 32 points, and the Lakers beat the Nuggets for the first time in nearly three years.

In today’s Instagram story, he posted a photo of LeBron’s score, which was probably a lap that Luca threw.

The couple’s signature move is becoming a full-game pass, and after their recent matches together, James has a perfect football metaphor to describe this particular aspect of their beautiful new partnership.

“I’m a natural wide receiver, he’s a natural quarterback, so it’s a perfect fit,” James said.
