Jannik Sinner officially launched the Jannik Sinner Foundation at an event in Milan on Thursday night, with more than 100 guests gathering to celebrate the program. The Foundation will focus on empowering children through movement.
“I’m lucky to pursue my passion through tennis, but I know millions of kids never have the chance to follow their dreams because they can’t go to school,” the second player in the Sinner PIF ATP ranking said on stage. “Standing here tonight, I see the project is finally alive and we are ready to help the kids realize their dreams.”
The foundation announced its first partnership in education and sports. It will work with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), the world’s largest fund, which is committed to improving schooling in low-income countries, and SINNER’s nonprofit organization Südtirol Sportthilfe, a nonprofit in the Sinner’s Home region that supports young athletes through funding, mentoring and development.
Laura Frigenti, CEO of GPE, welcomed the collaboration: “We are honored that the first major initiative of the Sinner Foundation is a three-year partnership with GPE. JannikSinner’s vision and global reach and global reach bring new momentum and visibility to the educational effect. We can help millions of marginalized children learn and grow.”
The foundation will be led by an experienced board of directors, including Alex Vittur, Sina’s long-time manager, Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula One, and former Apple CFO Luca Maestri. Director Christina Tauber will oversee the daily operations.
“Education doubles the possibilities, open doors and opportunities to shape personal lives, communities and economies,” said Taober. “Through the Foundation, we hope to expand the same opportunities to children everywhere. Supporting GPE is a powerful first step in the mission, and working with Südtiroler Sportthilfe allows us to give back to the communities that shaped Jannik’s own journey.”
