The recent fall of birds near a bay area has become a rural mystery after a resident claimed that a resident exploded, with neighbors accusing local utilities and authorities must investigate.
In April, a resident reported that a power line could cause multiple birds in the Richmond area of northeast San Francisco.
Resident Maximilian Conn told KGO-TV that he had witnessed several birds lying on the power line and that the residents’ doorbell camera captured the sound of a bird, and the sound rang out loud.
“So when they land and it happens, they explode very quickly, and it’s really violent,” Bolling said.
News about the exploding birds traveled quickly, so local news media visited the community to investigate. Photos from several exits blurred photos showing dead birds on the ground, their bodies intact. Residents said they had 13 in the nearby yard.
Residents pointed their fingers at local utilities, and Pacific Gas took workers nearby for inspection.
In a statement, the company said it appreciated the community’s attention, where workers found several bird carcasses and sent two of them to wildlife health laboratories for evaluation.
The results show that the birds were not electrocuted, the company said. One of the birds is a mourning pigeon and the other is a European starling.
“The poles discussed are in line with bird safety guidance established by the Bird Interaction Commission,” PG&E spokesman Matt Nauman said in a media statement.
The state agency responded to the PG&E statement, saying: “These birds do show harm consistent with the possible trauma caused by a particle gun, a BB gun or a slingshot.”
Krysten Kellum, a regional spokesman for the Ministry of Fish and Wildlife, said the department further suppressed the mysteries of all this, and the departments also received photos of other birds that also showed signs of consistency with the trauma. An investigation into bird deaths is still underway.
