There is a new M4 MacBook Air reportedly coming soon, but if you can’t wait or don’t need the extra features of the Apple M4 chip, you can now buy the M3 MacBook Air on Amazon for $200. This reduces the current MacBook Air price from $1,099 to $899, rather than the $850 low we’ve seen in the air before, but is quite close.
Engadget chose the M3 MacBook Air as the best MacBook due to its lightweight design, bright screen and reliable performance of the M3 chip. In addition to Wi-Fi 6e support, Apple’s custom silicon allows the MacBook Air to power two external displays at once, a very lack of in the air of the previous generation.

The current deal only covers the air model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in Apple’s “Midnight” blue finish, but for most people, that should be enough storage and memory. If you still want a deal, but there are more colors to choose from, several other MacBooks are on sale as well.

If you’re willing to pay more and want one of the most powerful laptops Apple currently sells, you can choose to opt for the new M4 MacBook Pro for $1,399, which is usually $200 off for $1,599. Apple introduced the M4 MacBook Pro near the end of 2024, with the focus on improving graphics performance. The new MacBook Pro is Apple’s closest to gaming laptops, and it includes other upgrades such as a brighter screen and improved webcam.
