Decades later, Babylon 5 This remains one of the greatest science fiction shows ever thanks to the vision and efforts of its creator J. Michael Straczynski (JMS). In the process of developing the series, JMS wrote the entire five-year plan, from start to finish, ensuring that the show tells a cohesive story.
JMS himself wrote 92 episodes, so why did the series stand out in its fifth and final season? This is because when the butler didn’t realize what she was going to throw away, all of these plans found themselves stuck in the hotel’s trash can.
For many years, JMS has been open to the tests and tribulations it brings. Babylon 5 Life, including how his notes were stolen when someone broke into his house, prompted a series of rewrites and some lost thoughts in the final season. Losing notes for a second time on a work trip after recreating once is devastating.
