Thousands of Israelis re-protested nationwide on Saturday to hold a new deal with Hamas to release hostages still in the Gaza Strip.

According to reports from Israeli media, thousands of people participated in many gatherings in the coastal city of Tel Aviv.

Under Benjamin Netanyahu, some protests have been explicitly targeted at the right-wing government.

The organizers of a rally talked about thousands of participants.

Iair Horn, who was imprisoned from Gaza in mid-February, criticized new military operations on coastal territory in his speech.

Horn said: “I was there, I walked through the tunnel while bombing and endangered all the hostages.

He also demanded the release of all those still held by Hamas, including his younger brother.

Video from the Hostages and Missing Family Forum shows several former prisoners in the crowd during protests in Lady Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square.

Demonstrations have also been held elsewhere in the country, including Haifa and Jerusalem, in favor of reaching a Gaza agreement with Hamas.

According to media reports, more than 100,000 people gathered throughout Israel on Saturday for demonstrations, some of whom criticized the government.

During the course of the week, especially in Jerusalem, there were more large protests.

Israel’s leaders are currently pushing for another controversial restructuring of the country’s judiciary, which has angered many Israelis in the process.

Anti-government protesters raised flags and placards as they protested against the Israeli government’s rejection of actions by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and Ronen Bar, head of internal security agency Ronen Bar. Ilia Yefimovich/DPA
