Three shots were fired near the Expo Park after violent weekend in South Los Angeles

Three people were shot dead near the bus stop at the Expo Park on Monday afternoon, Monday afternoon, on the heels of three shootings in southern Los Angeles.

According to Tony Im officials, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the corner of Vermont Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Monday 4:08 p.m.

Im said authorities were looking for two teenage boys who walked to the area, shot three people and fled.

Two 16-year-old boys were taken to the hospital, very stable. The third victim was a woman in her 50s who was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition.

IM said investigators suspected the shooting was gang-related.

The triple shooting follows a series of violent incidents that rocked South Los Angeles over the weekend. Police said the two were killed, one-third were taken to the hospital, and were in critical condition, with three shootings within three miles of the green grass.

IM said he had no information to indicate if there were any recent shootings.

Im said a 13-year-old girl died in the hospital after being shot dead in a 700 block of her home on Friday night. A woman in her 30s died in the hospital after being found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 10200 block of South San Pedro Street on Saturday afternoon.

Another person was taken to hospital after being injured in a shooting at East 103 Street and Avalon Avenue at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, according to LAPD official Norma Eisenman.

Times worker David Zahniser and Christopher Goffard contributed to the report.
