Two people died in Russia’s attack on Kharkif, dozens of injured

Ukraine Tingv (AP) – Russian drones attacked a military hospital, shopping mall, apartment block and other buildings in Kharkif, killing two people and injuring 30 people, Ukrainian officials said.

Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said a 67-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were killed in the attack in Ukraine’s second largest city.

Ukraine’s General Staff condemned the “targeted shelling” of military hospitals. Among the casualties were “soldiers who were receiving treatment.”

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched 111 explosions of drones and baits overnight in Sunday’s latest attack. It said 65 of them were intercepted and another 35 were lost, which is likely trapped by electronics.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said its air defense system shot down six Ukrainian drones.

According to Ukrainian government and military analysts, Russian forces are preparing to launch a new military offensive in the coming weeks to maximize pressure on Ukraine and strengthen the Kremlin’s negotiating position in the ceasefire.
