Truman Aerial Wings went home after a long, many Red Sea trips

Virginia Beach – A long and multiple deployment reached the finish line Friday as Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier composed of Virginia Beach, formed from Virginia Beach.
8 1/2 months later, the airline returns to the Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach on Friday.
“I’m so happy to be home,” Captain Leslie Mintz said. “I’m so happy that everyone is at home and reunite with their family.”
The aircraft carrier and its strike group spent five months defending Houthi drones and missiles in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. During this period, it lost three F/A-18s, but had no crew.
A fighter plane was accidentally shot down by a friendly fire. When the carrier was towed away, the carrier suddenly turned and fell for the second time. One-third of the plane crashed into the Red Sea after it failed to land on the aircraft carrier.

Even after the event encountered during deployment, Minz said the word she would use to describe the air wing is perseverance.
“It’s a bond that will never be broken, something we do together,” Minz said.
