Blizzard explains hero ban before introducing competitive Overwatch

Blizzard finally shares how the hero ban will work in competition Overwatch 2. The new steps will make the team prohibit what they think is heroes over-or-annoying, without having to let them eliminate opponent teams that might want to play. This feature is a common part of other competitive games League of Legendsand it is a metagame itself.

for Overwatch 2Blizzard hopes to use the “ban phase” that mainly allows players to delete the heroes they find frustrating and collect data used when the game rebalancing. When you first compete in a competitive match, you will get the option to select “Heroes of Choice”, which signals your team. You will then rank the three heroes to be removed from the match, and your first choice gives the biggest choice and your last choice has the least. Blizzard said all teams and players voted simultaneously, but the chat will be blocked between opposition teams until the vote ends.

Before the competitive Overwatch 2 matches, the screen shows the heroes you can ban and the current votes.

Once all votes are in, they calculate them using the following criteria:

  • The team with the most votes on a particular hero will be considered the “first” team and will be guaranteed to be banned from their choice of heroes. As far as tie is concerned, the first team is decided randomly.

  • Then another team became the “second” team. If the heroes they voted for the ban were not the banned heroes of the first team, they were banned from their most voted hero.

  • If the second team’s most draft picks are also the first team’s draft picks, the hero of the second team’s third vote will be removed.

  • Finally, the second-biggest voting hero in the first team was banned, and so was the second team.

When the number of voters for heroes is tied together, the game will select the heroes (rather than the total number of votes) in the lobby. Beyond that, the bonds are broken randomly, and no matter how the vote gets rid of it, each character has two ban restrictions. If you don’t want to ban any heroes or don’t know who to ban, you can also skip the vote and let your teammates decide for you.

Blizzard first announces that it will add a hero ban Overwatch 2 With its Season 15 announcement, the announcement introduced a allowance system to the game. The Heroes Ban arrives on April 22 with Season 16, which also includes a new Stadium mode, five-on-five games, where players earn currency to spend on upgrades between turns and have a third-person option.
