The victory of the Trump administration’s Jimmy Kimmel is no surprise to anyone who is concerned. From the moment he took office, President Donald Trump made it clear that he would use the power of the office to kill the expressions that made him feel discontented.
His execution order punishes the performance activities of the law firm (by the way, companies challenging the execution order are 4-0 in the court) is compelling evidence that he despises the First Amendment. His attack on the university was Exhibition B. Trump boasted that Jimmy Kimmel would be the next society after CBS canceled Stephen Colbert. So we saw this.
The Supreme Court made a clear speech

Traditionally, our country respects the First Amendment protection of speech, including speech we hate. 1943 – At the height of World War II – Robert Jackson declared that the Supreme Court ruled that public schools could not force Jehovah to witness students’ commitment to reciting allegiance:”[i]f There are any fixed stars in our constitutional constellations, and no official, high or trivial star that can prescribe political, nationalist, religious or other matters of opinion or other matters of opinion or that citizens may verbally recognize or act on their faith. ”

Judge William Brennan wrote:[i]fThe basis of the First Amendment is that governments may not be just because society finds the offensive or unpleasant thoughts of the idea itself. ”
In 2011, the Supreme Court ruled that the First Amendment protected the right of protesters to show signs at military funerals, saying “Thank God for the Dead Soldier” and “F–Fight,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote:[s]Peech is powerful. It can stimulate people to act, make them both joyful and sad, and – as it is here – cause great pain. Regarding the facts before us, we cannot deal with this pain by punishing the speaker. As a country, we chose another course – protecting speeches that are harmful even on public issues to ensure we do not kill public debate. ”
Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jon Stewart reacted to Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC suspension and the threat from the FCC.
In the case of the Supreme Court ousting the Thefted Heroic Act – a statute that makes it illegal to lie about military service – Judge Anthony Kennedy said:[w]The Court held that the benefit of true discourse alone was sufficient to maintain the injunction of speech, and there was no evidence that the speech was used to gain a significant advantage, which would give the Government an unprecedented universal review power in the cases of this Court or in our constitutional tradition. The potential to exercise this power can cause chills, and the chill of the First Amendment is that it cannot be allowed if free speech, thought and discourse are the basis of our freedom. ”

The First Amendment is at the heart of the United States

Therefore, there is evidence that the First Amendment is healthy and essential to the public interest. If the last sentence sounds familiar, it is because it comes directly from the Declaration of Independence. In the statement, Thomas Jefferson listed the dissatisfaction between the colonies and the British kings. The first one is like this:”[h]E refuses consent to the law, which is the most healthy and necessary for the public interest. ”
In issuing executive orders against law firms, violating Trump’s interests stance, denying funding to universities that are too “wake up” and in turning the FCC weapons and weapons into targeted spokespersons who mocked him, Trump undoubtedly rejected the consent of the law, the most beneficial to the public, the most necessary.

The United States is not the same thing; it is an idea. And deeply embedded in the idea that people can speak their thoughts under government sanctions. You can’t claim to love America and hate the First Amendment.
In 2020, when Trump hugged the American flag at the CPAC conference, I thought it was a stupid political stunt. Now, I see this as a pure hypocritical act.
