Tuscaloosa police confirms death of Alabama soccer QB twin sister Kierston Russell

Kierston Russell, the twin sister of University of Alabama football quarterback Keelon Russell, passed away, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed on June 5. She is 18 years old this year.

“The death investigation conducted on June 4, 2025 (in Tuscaloosa) has attracted a lot of attention,” Captain Jack Kennedy of the violent crime department of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a statement. After talking to the family, in order to calm media inquiries, they have allowed the confirmation of Kierston Russell’s death… According to the above procedures, the investigation is underway, and at this point it seems essentially non-criminal. Therefore, at this time, no other information was released. ”

Keelon Russell posted a series of social media messages on his Instagram account, including photos of him and Kierston, while responding to messages like “stay strong for mom, my mind and prayer with all of you” and emojis fit the shape of the heart.

Kierston Russell played basketball at Duncanville High School, Texas, and completed the season in the regional finals.
