Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese Haliburton had questions all week, but on Indiana’s biggest night, the Pacers’ leader was right for UP and led them to a blowout victory, extending the NBA Finals to Game 7 Championship.

“We have a game. One game,” Halliburton said after the dominant Indiana state beat the Thunder 108-91. “It’s something that happened before the event and nothing happened afterwards. It’s a game. Just trying to treat it in the right way for the next few days.”

Indiana entered Game 6 with a 3-2 record and it took everything to be right.

What they get is urgency, energy and wire-to-wire performance of their star guards.

“I just wanted to compete with my brothers when I was just trying to compete with my brothers. These guys were willing to fight with them, we’ve had such a special year and we have a special bond, you know, if I didn’t have a chance, I think I would beat myself up,” Harry Boulton said.

Halliburton scored 14 points and 5 assists, but his appearance alone ignited the Pacers.

Their 62-35 swept Oklahoma City’s second and third quarters, with their starters in the entire fourth place.

“That’s all. I mean…this is what you dream about growing up – this kind of opportunity.”

Oklahoma City will host Game 7, but Indiana’s mentality is unclear.

“It’s so exciting. As a basketball fan, there’s nothing like Game 7,” Halliburton said. “I’ve dreamed of this situation all my life. What happened in the past doesn’t matter. What happened today doesn’t matter. It’s about a game and approaching that goal the right way.”
