I found the best way to hit a five-code chip is to use a smaller, taller club (GW, PW or 9-EROR instead of SW or LW), closer to the ball, raise the handle high, lift the handle, grab the grip and make more putts. This helps to “quiet” the legs and keeps your hands passive, the combination will result in reduced force and shorter shots.
