White Sox is signing outfielder Joshua Palacios According to Robert Murray of The Fanatic, a minor league was reached. Ballengee Group clients elected free agents earlier this week after being communicated by Pirates.
Palacios, 29, has been bounced in the Grand Slams for the past few years. In his last four major league seasons, he is suitable for the Blue Jays, Nationals and Pirates. Broadly speaking, he played well in minors who did not succeed in their major.
So far, he has been sent to plates 433 times in his major league career, including 0.230/.286/.364. This means WRC+ is 75, which indicates that his overall overall average is 25% lower. He also participated in 781 minor league cricket in 2021-24 as the .303/.387/.484 line and 131 WRC+.
The gap between his major and minor league numbers led to him being sent to the farm and returning. He ran out of his last choice year for 2024 and now has no choice, which has left him squeezed by Pittsburgh’s 40 people.
If he put another good minor league with the White Sox, they should be able to give him some major league game time later this year. Their outfield mix currently includes Louis Robert,,,,, Andrew Benintendi,,,,, Travis Jankowski,,,,, Austin Slater and Michael A. Taylor. All of these players should be in mid-season trade negotiations, as they have a fairly narrow window of control on the White Sox team, which won’t compete in the short term.
Assuming some of these players do indeed get traded in the next few months, the White Sox has a bunch of people who can get some game time. Palacios will join the latter group and will work hard to win him on his way.
