It’s been more than a year since Khloé Kardashian’s NBA player and ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson became the legal guardian of his 18-year-old brother Amari. “Tristan is in the NBA, literally, in a different state every other day or every few days, and Amari is not conducive to Amari on many planes. Amari has several seizures per day, with the type of epilepsy he has.”

“So Amari stayed in Los Angeles with me and I chose to take care of him and serve him there because he wasn’t traveling well,” she continued. “The weather in California is very good for Amari and I just like to make Amari a part of my family.”

Khloé said she hired two “sensational caregivers” to help take care of Amari. “We just want to provide Amari with the best, most beautiful life we know. He deserves it.” Kardashian Xingxing said.

Khloé, 34, and Tristan began dating in September 2016. They welcomed their daughter True on April 7, 2018 in Tristan’s cheating scandal. The couple eventually split in June 2021, although they welcomed their 3-year-old son Tatum through an agent in July 2022 and continued to work on occupying their own little children.

On Wednesday’s podcast, Khloé explains why she is still committed to caring for Amari, although no longer with Tristan. According to the Star, this has little to do with basketball players and has more connections with the late mother.

“Andrea and I became good friends when I met Tristan and his family nine years ago. I have such a great relationship with Andrea and I will help her Amari medically,” Krolo explained. “She will have questions, she needs to connect with certain doctors, and I will help with that. When Andrea is here, I’m very involved in all his medical dates.”

Khloé continued: “I also know how important Amari is to Andrea, she passed away because she had a sudden heart attack. Whether my relationship with Tristan was in a romantic relationship with Tristan, I still have a family that I have had for many years with Andrea, that my relationship with Andrea had nothing to do with Tristan. Amari had nothing to do with Amari.

Khloé also made public about Amari’s connection with her and Tristan’s two children, as well as his relationship with the wider Kardashian-Jenner family.

“I think it’s important for my children, my nieces and nephews to reach all the different types of people in the world,” she said. “I think it teaches everyone the compassion, understanding. It makes their thoughts see them: ‘Wow, Amari is disabled, but he’s also like us at the same time.””

She added: “I love seeing Amari light up when she’s around the kids. He can’t speak, but… if you know him enough, he can definitely express himself and you’ll see the glimmer in his eyes.”

“He is such an amazing, great young man, and I feel so proud and honored that I have Amari throughout my life,” Kholow concluded.
