Zelensky judges Kursk’s offense is successful
Despite the general retreat of Ukrainian troops from the Kursk region of Russia, President Vorodimir Zelensky’s surprise advance to enemy territory was a success.
Russia invaded Ukraine three years ago, but Kiev decided to open the table in Moscow by launching its own limited invasion in August.
“It is absolutely fair to transfer the war to where it comes from,” Zelensky said in the video address.
Zelensky recorded the video in the Sumi-Ukrainian border area, from which Ukrainian troops were promoted to Russian territory.
He said he had discussed with commanders of the troops still fighting in Kursk what equipment and support they needed.
“We are working to protect our position,” Zelensky said.
Only a few square kilometers in the Kursk region of Russia are still under Ukraine’s control.
