The new Star Wars chapter begins at the edge of the galaxy at Disneyland

Start today at Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Star Wars Fans will be able to meet with Master Luke Skywalker in Batuu. His arrival is the latest evolution in Canon, the theme park, once limited to himself Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

In the past few years, the initial timeline changes have gradually emerged as Disney+Lucasfilm digital display pops up in Batuu, inspiring Ahsoka, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Sabine Wren and Hera. Of course, due to the fan demand for characters outside of the sequel trilogy, the Mandalorian and Grog had a big presence in the park.

IO9 participated in the opening of the Forces season today in 2025 – Disneyland’s annual Star Wars The celebration, which lasts until May 11, talks with Matt Martin of Lucasfilm and Michael Serna of Disney Live Entertainment, discusses how the story of Black Spire Outpost will evolve from here.

“We see all the land and experience as an evolution,” Serna shared. “Some things come and go, displays are open, attractions come and go. [it] Continuously evolving, we don’t even know that some of these stories will be told when we build the edge of the galaxy. So as time goes by, we realize, who doesn’t like Mandalorian’s stories, who doesn’t like all kinds of different stories? So it’s an opportunity for us to fit in those stories that we know fans love and appreciate while not staying away from anything we’ve done before. Sometimes you see something you like, sometimes you don’t. Our goal is to attract as many fans as possible and convey all the amazing characters and experiences people expect from our parks. ”

This shift will become more clear this year, and it all begins with legendary weaver Tohan Lege, a character created last year for Galaxy’s Edge Fireworks Show. Initially, he was an invisible phonetic narrative about the real heroes and villains in the land, and this year, he, along with his trusted R1 R1 series Astromech Droid Bard, used their history to predict memory: Skywalker Saga, Skywalker Saga, explored their family, explored all of them.

Lucasfilm collaborated with the park to create him to be expressed as a dramatic image. “Now, we have him as the core of the ‘shadow of memory’. So the fabulous legend of someone telling the Skywalker story is so perfect, because Star Wars Martin said: “It’s a modern myth in itself. For both shows we’re presenting here, having an exhaustive role to do storytelling is a perfect bridge. Hopefully we can continue in the park and other Star Wars story. ”

This is the key to opening up stories told within the land, and characters that may pop up from everywhere in the future Star Wars Canon, Serna confirmed. “Star Wars There are many stories to tell. Matt and I have a lot of discussions on how we introduce things, like Fire of Memory [in] Fireworks show. We have the idea that storytellers are common things that happen at the beginning [humankind]. This is our way of life. We gather around the fire and tell a story. This is how we convey history and myths. Then why Star Wars Is there any difference? Some people want to collect these stories and tell future generations. ”

Apart from Master Luke Skywalker, we can’t wait to see other stories to the park, and we witnessed his first gate this afternoon.

As for any changes Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Release next year’s big screen Mandalorian and Grogu– Well, Disney still keeps it secret. “I mean, we can’t talk too much,” Serna teased. “We don’t have much to say yet. Because we can’t really talk about it except what you’ve learned in the Southwest.”

Martin added: “I’m going to say that this will be another authentic Mandalorian story, obviously we’ll be in Millennium Falcon. So we will understand what we are ultimately Millennium Falcon When Han Solo owned the ship. So this should be interesting. But otherwise, I think you have to wait and see. ”

We also ask if there are any outstanding people from Florida now broken Star Wars: The Galaxy May come to Batuu, such as the Lightsaber experience or our beloved Gaya’s dinner performance.

“I want to say we’re going to keep growing and doing new things. You never know,” Serna said.

We asked if we should be optimistic, Martin added: “We learned a lot from a storytelling perspective. So I think the lessons we learned will always inform the future.”
